7 Essentials For A Healthy Skin Care Regimen

October 26, 2018 by Dr.John Penton Leave a Comment

Perfect Skin Care Tips
Skin is the largest defense organ of the human body. On another note, it is also an essential standard of beauty. For this reason, skin related problems should always become a priority. The good news is you do not necessarily have to wait for them, but try preventing such issues.

Protection Against UV Radiation

Protecting yourself against UV radiation is probably the most important step in skin maintenance. UV radiation is the most harmful environmental factor that can cause skin issues – various affections and even early aging. A random exposure to the sun will determine wrinkles, spots and even skin cancer.

Use suncream whenever you have to – ideally with an SPF of 15 or higher. Dermatologists recommend using suncream even on cloudy, but hot days. Also, avoid the unnecessary sun exposure at the wrong time. You should skip going out between 10AM and 2PM. At that point, the UV radiation hits its strongest levels.

Proper Face Cleaning

Everyone knows that brushing your teeth should take at least a couple of minutes. Well, the same rule applies to cleaning your face. Make sure you take your makeup off every night before you go to sleep. Even if you do not wear any makeup, you still need to clear all the impurities off your skin. Otherwise, they suffocate skin pores and threaten to affect your beauty.

Once you are done cleaning, use a hydrating cream. Ideally, it should be entirely natural, as it maintains the skin elasticity.

Avoiding Harsh Treatments

Lots of people assume that they maintain their skin by the book, but they often do things that they should not. Small unhealthy habits are part of everyone’s routine. From this point of view, long hot baths are highly contraindicated. Hot water clears natural oils off. Instead, opt for quick showers with warm water.

Stay away from harsh soaps too. If they dry your skin, they obviously affect the humidity and oily profile of your face. As a direct consequence, irritation is only one step away. Plus, do not dry your face too rigorously. Simply tap your skin with the towel, rather than rub it against the skin.

Killing Stress

Stress is part of everyone’s lives. It is perfectly normal these days. What most people do not know is the fact that stress will also affect your skin. When too stressed, it can trigger cutaneous wounds and aggravate acne. After all, it is known for causing powerful inflammation throughout the body.

There are multiple ways to handle stress. You can do it through meditation or self improvement books. No matter what problems you have, keep in mind that there is at least one solution to every issue out there.

Maintaining a Balanced Diet

A healthy diet for your skin involves an increased consumption of fruits, vegetables, cereals and weak protein. At the same time, a diet rich in saturated fats and carbohydrates will drastically contribute to various dermatological affections, such as acne.

The more natural your diet is, the better your skin will feel. Ditch those unhealthy snacks between meals. If you feel hungry, simply have a few fruits to fill you up while supporting your body with nutrients.

Keeping Your Pillow Clean

Plenty of people overlook this precaution. Maintaining your pillow cover clean is a must. If you do not sleep with a pillow, follow the same rule for the bed sheets. While you sleep, you inevitably lose sweat or saliva. Such fluids are immediately absorbed by the pillow cover or bed sheets. Your face and neck will always be in direct contact, so focus on regular maintenance.

What do you need to do? Not much! Simply turn the pillow on the other side every few days and clean the whole set once a week.

Regular Exposure to Steam

It makes no difference what type of skin you have – steam is always efficient in maintaining it healthy. In other words, infusions help open the pores and intensify the blood circulation. The skin will then activate its natural regeneration mechanisms.

Moreover, once your skin is directly exposed to steam, it becomes more capable to absorb the beneficial ingredients of face masks or hydrating creams. When the pores are open, they act like a vacuum. Having an infusion implies applying a treatment right away, rather than doing something else that could expose your skin to harmful chemicals.

Conclusion

Bottom line, maintaining a healthy skin care regimen is mostly about following some simple rules that do not require too much effort. Most people stick to at least a few of these rules. However, the more cautious you are, the better your results will be in the long run. Remember that your skin will naturally age anyway. It will lose its elasticity and beauty overtime. Maintaining it will delay these harmful effects of time.
